James Winkler, PA-CanemptytextllineJim Winkler has practiced medicine in Hawaii for 26 years. He serves as President of Kauai Community Health Alliance while also caring for patients as a medical provider at Hale Lea Medicine & Urgent Care. Winkler graduated class president from the USC School of Medicine Primary Care PA Program in 1984 and has advanced training in functional & integrative medicine. Teaching appointments include Pacific College, and the Fort Collins Family Medicine Residency Program. Professional memberships include the New York Academy of Sciences, and the Greater Los Angeles Nutrition Council. Winkler has been a published medical newspaper columnist for many years. He is also the founding director of a non-profit humanitarian organization, the Amicus Foundation, which sponsors projects in medicine, education, women’s needs and cultural preservation. Also a professional musician Winkler has performed with Charles Mingus, Gabor Zabo, Benny Powell, Johnny Guitar Watson, Alex Acuna (Weather Report), Bill Kreutzmann (Grateful Dead), Donald Fagen (Steely Dan), Todd Rundgren, Makana and others, and has worked as a feature film composer.

Lisa FloresanemptytextllineLisa Flores, a Kilauea resident, has worked in the nonprofit, local government and philanthropic sectors for more than 30 years. She was elected to the Denver Public School Board, where she served as Treasurer; worked as Executive Director of a grassroots multi-generational community center and service organization; managed statewide grant making for a large Colorado family foundation; served as senior staff to former Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper; dedicated two years to Peace Corps service in Ecuador; and has contributed countless hours as a community volunteer. Lisa has a Master’s Degree in nonprofit management. Lisa is married to Rick Tallman, a Gulf War-era veteran, who works in sustainable investment. Together, they enjoy caring for the soil and two aging canines.

From 2003 through 2007, Harvey served as President of the Board of Directors of the Kekahu Foundation, the licensee for KKCR, Kauai’s independent, noncommercial, community radio station. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the Kauai Community Health Alliance, he is a Board member of the Nature of Hope, a San Francisco based non-profit focused on introducing the study of biomimicry to public schools, as well as the Kauai Island Council of the Hawai‘i Island Land Trust, a non-profit organization committed to working with private landowners, community groups, and government partners to protect Hawai‘i’s precious lands.
