Hale Lea Medicine, the central initiative of Kauai Community Health Alliance (KCHA), provides primary care and urgent care to Kauai's north shore communities.

North Shore Social Services

The development of a social services satellite on Kauai's north shore is critical.

Tsunami Preparation

KCHA intends to build a Tsunami-Ready initiative that will be designed to help our vulnerable communities.

Healthcare for Everyone

Whether un-insured or under-insured, KCHA's Hale Lea Medicine clinic wants to provide the best care to everyone.

Physical Therapy Initiative

Our north shore community now needs expanded and improved Physical Therapy services.

Urgent Care and Primary Care on Kauai's North ShoreWhy KCHA?

Five out of seven primary care clinics have closed their doors since 2002 on the north shore of Kauai. We knew something was wrong, and so the Kauai Community Health Alliance was born. KCHA's Hale Lea Medicine provides both primary care and urgent care walk-in on Kauai's north shore serving the communities of Princeville, Kilauea, Anahola, Hanalei, Haena and Kapaa.

Challenges We Face

Insurance reimbursement rates are often lower than the actual cost of providing healthcare:

medicare payments and costs

Complimentary and Integrative Medicine

Integrative medicine puts the patient at the center and addresses the full range of physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and environmental influences that affect a person's health. A growing body of evidence suggests that integrative medicine can successfully address --and to some extent alleviate--many troubling aspects of our current healthcare crisis. It employs a personalized strategy that considers the patients unique conditions, needs and circumstances, helping people regain and maintain optimum health.

KCHA receives prestigious grant

The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation has gifted the Kaua‘i Community Health Alliance with a $10,000 grant. The grant honors KCHA’s outstanding contributions as a nonprofit family practice medical clinic.
